Camo For NYE & The Holiday Series

This may be the only dance move I know, but I plan on using it and using it well come NYE! Or maybe not. Maybe I'll be a total bum and watch the peach drop (Georgia here) from the comfort of my living room. Some years I've been known to fall asleep before midnight (gasp!!). What can I say? I'm an early riser so I wind down fairly quickly. However, this year I plan on going the distance as I think of the rest of you fine people counting down with me!

Red, White & Black & Christmas Tree Adventures

Hello my dear friends! It's the day after Christmas and my heart is full. We had a wonderful time engaging in our yearly traditions and even added new ones here and there. Some traditions had to go on hold due to a crazy schedule. No worries! We will get out and see those Christmas light this week! From Christmas Eve to the close of Christmas day our time was well spent with loved ones, whether it was at our home or us popping into their homes. Of course I ate too much and will have to return to my Granola ways SOON, but not til all these leftovers are polished off.

The Holiday Series: Christmas Outfit Inspiration

Hi there! Are you all ready for Christmas? As I type and breathe, I am not ready!! I feel a slight tightening in my chest; something akin to stress. Even now our lack of eggs, milk and fresh produce looms over me, reminding me that I need to close this computer and run to Aldi. Just a few more minutes! Anyone else feeling it? There's a few more gifts to pick up and ALL gifts need to be wrapped. GULP. Our boys are counting down as well, but for totally different reasons.

However, Christmas will come and when it does I will enjoy it whether or not all things were done perfectly or not. Amen! So I'm taking a deep breath and reminding myself what this season is all about while entertaining some fashion therapy in between. ;) And today we happen to have 15 bloggers to inspire you...

The Holiday Series: Wedding Looks

When you were a little girl did you ever dream of a December wedding? If so, what did you picture? Glitter, sparkle, furs and maybe even snow? Snow! If I had gotten this outfit together over the weekend, my backdrop would be a beautiful landscape of white. Instead I bring you this next segment of the Holiday Series, hosted by Ada at Elegance and Mommyhood, with a patchy, dying lawn. My plan "B" is to distract you with my red nose, awkward smile and rigid poses from the freezing cold!

Thrifted Or Gifted, Featuring: Buffalo Plaid

Why hello! While preparing to work on this blog post today I received a notification from my computer warning me that my storage is filling up. Sigh. I should already have a system in place, but computer clean up is not my favorite. However, I'm working on it, but loading photos into organized albums on Google Photos as I go along. Now I just need to start transferring and deleting from my computer, which is about 6 years old now. What storage system do you use? Dropbox? Google? Inquiring, unorganized minds would love to know!

The Holiday Series: Mini-Home Tour & Thursday Moda Link UP

Another day is upon us. Christmas is upon us! How quickly this season comes each year and how quickly it goes, right? I can try to fight it, but instead I'll embrace the crazy, making the most of the moments as I go.  In addition to living up to our traditions, I'm trying to keep my focus on the true meaning of Christmas to impart that truth to my precious boys; big and small. One of the many ways way I've embraced the crazy this year is by saying yes to the "Home Tour" post in "The Holiday Series" collaboration hosted by Ada at Elegance and Mommyhood blog. Sweet Ada loves decorating for Christmas, which you will see when you tour her home!

Thrifted Moto Boots, Cardigans & More

Hello, hello.  Though December is upon us, fall lingers in Georgia with temps in the 60s and leaves stubbornly clinging to the trees. I love days like this; sunshine and slight breezes requiring nothing more than a cozy cardigan for my outer layer. Soon the cold will come, so I'll embrace these moments by stopping in between the busy schedule to check out a new blog spot. Haha. But seriously!

TBB Asks: Holiday Questions & Answers

Hello! Welcome to December, right? Last Monday we were finishing up all things fall and after one weekend, we have Christmas lights and our tree set up at home. The Christmas season is here and I couldn't be more excited! There's much to love about the Christmas season, but I also recognize that the holidays can be a difficult time for those suffering the loss of loved ones, loneliness, financial difficulty, etc. I pray that this Christmas of 2017 you will be comforted and even surprised by extra doses of kindness as you go through out your day.

Today's post is another fun get to know you, question and answer segment from the Blended Blog series: TBB ASKS. Can you guess the theme?
Yes!
The Holidays!!
But before I delve into those fun questions, here's a quick peek at my random outfit. I say random because it doesn't look as put together as I'd like. Just the same I had fun with it and I like to share my  wins as well as not-quite-there-yet, or all out flails on the blog.

Well, I did love the boots, the skirt and the jewelry from this outfit. I'd wear this again, but with a few tweaks. Now let's get on with those questions!!

Western Vest Meets Fedora & My First "Piphany" Item

Hello and happy first day of December! My adventures in Illinois AND one of the busiest weeks thus far are now complete. Currently, I'm sipping on my second cup of coffee with my hair going every which way and body protesting movement. You know those days well, don't you? It was a good week though, so no complaints here.

Boutique Find, Thrift Store Find & More

Well, hello! Yes. This is how excited I was to get my new cardigan in the mail from Corrie LeeAnns online boutique*. She's adorable, friendly and passionate about quality, CUTE clothes at great deals. This cardigan came in several colors, but I opted for the rust because I didn't have anything close to that color in my closet...trying to branch out you know? The cardigans may be swooped up but there's adorable options to browse through - you should go take a peek!

The Holiday Series: Black Friday Getup

Guten tag. It's another day in the blog world and I feel great to be alive. Once again I'm energized by the developing friendships with you sweet ladies! Ada, from Elegance and Mommyhood continues her hard work and fab Holiday Series post with a Black Friday outfit inspiration! Still need Thanksgiving inspiration? Check out the first post of the series HERE.

When I think of the crowded stores, unpredicatble temps, the possibility of carrying a lot of bags, etc, I plan my outfit to be comfortable and smart!
First, I start with comfortable shoes and this year I'm happy to have my trendy and cute Adidas to tromp around in. Then I go for my absolute favorite pair of pants - these joggers from the GAP. Already in the works are plans to hit up my local GAP for another pair. Lastly, I usually layer a long sleeve tee with a warm vest. This way I can suffer through a little cold while going in and out of stores, but don't have to deal with a bulky jacket once inside.

Almost a Baker Boy Hat

Hey friends! Yesterday I found myself staring through the clothes in my closet hoping inspiration would magically transform. Well, sometimes ideas do seem to magically appear, but yesterday wasn't one of them. The struggle was real and looked like this...

Sigh.

I could wear my green denim. No. I always wear those and I've blogged about them way too many times.
My distressed denim. No. That was in my last blog post.
Leggings? Yeah, but what long top do I want to pair with them?
I should wear this new cardigan so I can blog about it. No. Not feeling it.

I pulled a few top/vest combinations out in hopes to be inspired further. Nothing.

I gave up and resorted to scrolling Pinterest, as well as my Pureple App that I used once upon a time. (They revamped their software several months back and I lost the ability to connect my uploaded photos to their online site. I've yet to motivate myself to upload everything again.)

Plaid Top and Cupcake Adventures

Hello! Today's post is filled with drivel about the weather, a peak into the everyday runnings of a stay home mom, as well as my latest cupcake adventures. So please, take a moment and share in this crazy life. I love to hear from you! Your comments, as well as shared stories enrich my day exponentially!

Shall we being with the fact that Georgia began the week with temps in the high 70s and then dropped down to the 50s within a 24 hour period?? These photos were taken in the 70s, but the wind and overcast pall should have clued us in to what was coming next.

Sandals and slightly ventilated jeans didn't keep me as cool as I thought, but those mornings can be deceivingly cool. One can attempt layering but some days...

What to Wear For Thanksgiving: The Holiday Series

Hello my friends! Somehow it's already time to be planning Thanksgiving, while thinking about Christmas. In just a little over a week, my family and i will be traveling to central Illinois to share Thanksgiving with my in laws! Yup. We are farm country bound and I can't wait! Of course there is much to do before we leave, such as: get life in order here and then shop for Christmas gifts to exchange. That's been a tradition for several years and no one objects to forgoing the task and cost of shipping at Christmas.

TBB Asks - Things You're Thankful For

Hello my friends! I'm excited to share this month's TBB asks post! I wish I had more shots of the outfit I'm sporting in the above picture but some days it's enough to get myself and family out the door! In addition, finding the time to shop for great deals on clothes is a challenge these days. However, I did manage to find the top and coordinating cardigan at a local boutique for $5 and $10! The rest of my shopping seems to be happening online lately.

Okay, enough about that sad picture. Let's get right into the questions!

1.  A New Friend
These last few months have been rich in conversation with new, developing friendships. Isn't it funny how you can see someone regularly at church, work etc and then in one conversation or fun hang out, a beautiful friendship begins to form?  I'm learning to be intentional with the friendships I have, as well as keeping the "circle" open for others that come along.

Guard your "safe friendships" and then remember to keep the circle open.

KEEP

THE

CIRCLE

OPEN

Just a Few of My Favorites & Fails!

Hello my blogger friends! I hope this post finds you enjoying fall weather.  My husband and I were on a cruise last week (post to come soon) and I'm told that the weather was pretty chilly during our absence. However, with the temps in the high 70's this week I'm not sure I believe them. ;)  Regardless of Georgia's indecision about fall, I continue to live vicariously through my blogger friends up north, while indulging all things pumpkin. Ok mostly lattes.
The weather. How many of my posts open with a blurb about the weather?? I can't seem to help myself. After all, my entire outfit is planned around weather first, destination second. Today was no different. I grabbed my favorite (and most worn) shirt dress and paired it with this 3 quarter length cardigan.  From there I dug out leggings, added my brown Clark boots and a few accessories. There was no need to make a fuss. Just a regular day...

Long Cardigan, Kicks & Cupcake Adventures

It's a gorgeous evening. One of the few left to enjoy before fall is fully upon us with early sunsets. I take in my surroundings and feel blessed to be alive. Before I know it I'm lost in my thoughts; one of my favorite places to be - I'm a dreamer after all. A dreamer that anticipates the next thing, while savoring the quiet moment. Is it possible to do both? To be content, while waiting with expectation for the the unexpected? I believe it is.  At least I believe it is when you know your life is already planned out. Or better explained, there is a master plan unfolding each day that I get to join up with. Somedays I listen. My prayer is to add more days that I listen and less days when I'm distracted by the unnecessary.

Bridge the Gap Campaign: Nicole of HLS

What is the Bridge the Gap Campaign?

Today is an extra exciting day due in part to the launch of an unprecedented campaign: “Bridging the Gap.” This campaign is all about creating a connection between Millennials and Midlife Influencers. With 100 individual women from each generation interacting with each other, the goal is to bridge the gap between each other; blurring the boundaries in order to show that we are all stronger together. We are putting an end to the labels and differing cultural beliefs that are causing us to divide. Age is simply a number. What truly matters is a person's attitude and perspective of life and all its happenings. We are millennial women supporting midlife influencer women, but are more than willing to let men join in the celebration. Together, we desire to send a powerful message, showing that we women have chosen to be seen for who we are, rather than the number on our birth certificates. We believe in a world without separation and together, we are a far stronger than we would ever be apart. Please join us in this revolutionary campaign as it is the heart and soul of women that truly matter in the end.

Distressed Denim, Handbags & More

Iced Coffee from Tradewind Coffee Co
Hello, hello my reader friends. Today I'm sharing a couple of shots from "what I wore" over the last couple of weeks.  This compilation and hodgepodge is my life right now; casual, a bit hurried and as always full of mini-adventures along the way. If I had participated in a challenge to style some of the same items to make several outfits, this purse and these jeans would be my picks...for this week anyway.
I am loving olive green right now and I think it pairs so nicely with blush pink, purple hues, white, black and the list goes on. So when a friend passed on this bag I was excited to get using it. (See links to other options below.)

Let's start with that olive green I love so much: Distressed jeans. If you purchase a pair of jeans with the knees already frayed, plan on the holes expanding squat by squat. When you bend at the knees, the few attached threads struggle to maintain their grip. Before you know it, you're strutting around town with gaping holes at the knees. I get many a stare, but I'm not ready to toss these favorites just yet.

These lovelies were picked up from Marisa Jill's, a local boutique I drop in on from time to time. I feel I must mention that other than a few accessory additions, there is nothing new share as it's time to replace the boy's athletic shoes. Four boys. Oh help us!

Trifecta Bracelet Set and Be Joyful

Onto the Purse...

Shades are by Maui Jim and were purchased at Costco

 The Last Days of Warmth??

Once again, this purse makes an appearance and goes great with a thrown together outfit. I had to grab my accessories and go!

Speaking of this outfit, I'm confident that it will be my last warm weather get up while traipsing around Georgia. However, next week is my hubby and I's scheduled and first cruise to the Bahamas. So those of you in cooler climates please bear with me as I continue to live as if I'm enjoying summer. ;)

Alternative Option from Altar'd State Sale: Sweet Heart Dress

The shoes and the jewelry are the only items purchased within the last few months, while the dress and the kimono vest were purchased last year at Altar'd State.

Well my reader friends, are any of you still hanging in warmer weather and what are your go to accessories or staples right now?

As always, I love to hear from you!

Chrissy
