Xooma Minerals for Your Water: Alkaline Vs. Acidic

Hey! I'm going a little different than my usual fashion posts today! I've mentioned a supplement, if you will, that I've been using and I promised to share more about my findings with you. This post, my friends, is a labor of love, as I'm not scientifically minded and work hard to understand how the world functions around me.

Let's start with why I even care! I used to think it's normal to feel tired, experience frequent struggles with memory loss, battle with focus and much more which, is where I'm at from time to time. My personal health journey started when someone gave me "The Maker's Diet" by Jordin Ruben over 13 years ago! This book opened my eyes about processed foods, what's in household cleaners, hygiene products and cosmetics. It changed my approach to food entirely and ultimately started a healthier lifestyle journey.

I began reading more about toxins in our environment, pesticides, radiation exposure, chemicals in cosmetics (EEEK!) and household cleaners, etc. I became overwhelmed with all the conflicting information about vaccines. In full disclosure, I just wanted to bury my head in the sand and sometimes in the name of sanity, I let certain things go.

In reality, this journey has fluctuated over the years with changing variables such as: budget, a full calendar, teenagers ("Mom, can we please stop at chic-fil-a??") and more! Sometimes I try and sometimes I don't.

PLUS, there is so much information on the web, documentaries ("Fat, Sick and Nearly dead for one), and new research changing what is good or bad for us.  There's all the different diets or suggested nutrition plants...Keto diets, Paleo, Whole 30. Should you go vegetarian or vegan and the list goes on.

My head spins, as it's difficult to discern what sources to trust. Quite honestly, if the highly educated scientists, doctors and researchers don't always agree, how is little 'ole me expected to figure it out?

Well, I do believe that there are some obvious steps we should take that no one seems to argue with:
  • Cut out excessive amounts of sugar or MOST sugar ( I do frequent the cupcake shop!!!)
  • Eat minimal amounts of processed foods or fast foods
  • Eat more fruits and vegetables, especially greens
  • Exercise regularly
  • Drink lots of water

Just look at me with my trendy water bottle.

And that last point is where I'm going to camp for this post. Water. Tap water, bottled water, alkaline water, filtered water - who knew there is so much information out there about WATER??

Studies show that if we feel thirsty then we're already dehydrated.  (Dang it. I need to go get a drink of water.) In order for optimal body function we MUST be hydrated. No one will disagree with that. My husband served in the military before we met and they preached water for everything. Sick? Drink water. Headache? Drink water. Drink water. Drink water. It obviously impacted him because that's what he says to us to this day!

For a quick review, here's what WebMd says about staying hydrated:

So ok. Drink clean, filtered water.  I have a good water filter that I purchased after reading the Maker's Diet and I use it to this day. I believe that filter works effectively to remove unwanted, possible invaders such as: chlorine, trihalomethanes, organic arsenic & mercury, lead, cysts, floatings solids (ewwww), pesticides and herbicides.  I'll not go into the effects of all those, as this post is already a long one, but I recommend looking into them!

NOW, I should be good, right? Get half of my body's weight in ounces of filtered water a day,  so what does all this have to do with Xooma and X20? 

Recently, I started watching videos and listening to testimonials on, of all places, an online clothing boutique! I've mentioned and featured clothing from Corrie LeeAnn's several times. However, I've been intrigued by her health journey with X20, Xooma water sachets. 

She and her friend Audra, the rep that Corrie knew since childhood, shared information that I was familiar with, as well as enlightening info like: 

"Our body will do whatever it takes to maintain a healthy ph; it has to or we will die. So if I ingest something that threatens to throw off that ph it will pull minerals or whatever it needs from other places in the body to make up the difference. Over time this robbing Peter to pay Paul takes a toll on our bodies."

I used to get frustrated when I read that our soil is lacking in nutrients, thereby making our produce lacking as well. OR hearing that our water doesn't contain minerals. What? What does that even mean?? Why can't we just eat whole foods and leave it be? I have enough to manage without worrying about whether or not our soil is acidic or alkaline, or if our water has minerals. Is water without minerals DEAD water? And what does that mean?

Over the years, I've chatted with different supplement reps (I've even been a rep for a well known supplement company) about needing extra supplements for this very reason. Fast forward 10 years and I'm hearing this more and more. Only now there is more science to back this up.

So, what if your water could provide you with the minerals our bodies need for optimal function? In other words, what if we drink water that already HAD the minerals our bodies needed. It's what our water should do!  

Once again..."your body uses its own mineral buffers to protect you from these dangerous acids and maintain your healthy blood ph of 7.35 to 7.45".


Water hydrates because of the minerals and how they alkalinize the water. 

The X20 sachets have live, active minerals that come from a live source that raises the PH levels in our water. This is so fascinating to me! But then I wanted to know where Xooma gets these LIVE and ACTIVE minerals? Here's what I read:

"Xooma's minerals are from a protected source of live coral, 200ft down at the bottom of the ocean in Okinawa. That's where it is harvested when it dies it falls to the bottom. Less than 1% a year is harvested. It's then put through rigorous testing before packaged here."


Xooma developed a pure energy think drink called Focus Up. Focus up works as a brain food to support the communication with the nerve centers in your brain that control the rest of you body...I.E. immune system, adrenal glands, memory, mental focus, clarity and the list goes on. 

Are you still with me?? I listened to these facts and asked a lot of questions because, again, I've always been a big proponent of getting what we need from clean water and whole foods. And again, I'm learning that it's just not enough in the environment that we live in. But, even more amazing than these findings is listening to the testimony of Audra and her incredible health recovery.  In addition, I paid attention to the Corrie LeeAnn's developments while on Xooma. 

I wanted to try this stuff! So I reached out to Corrie and she sent me 10 days worth of products. I couldn't wait to get started... 

Getting started:

You take that small sachet with over 70 trace, active minerals and drop it into your filtered water.  Then you give it a shake and let it set for five minutes. Drink up. In fact, drink half of your body weight in water - in ounces of course a day.  Each sachet mineralizes up to 40oz of water and I usually end up using 2 of them a day.

In addition, I take the Focus up supplements, which tell your body what to do with all those fabulous minerals and make you feel energized in a non-jittery way!

I still used my filtered water, but could taste a difference with the first sip. Cool but not worth paying for sachets, right?

About 7 days into my Xooma experience, I started feeling's a little late in the game for detox symptoms! My shoulders were aching all the way up to my head. I didn't sleep great and the next day I felt weak. However, my husband and my son woke up with the flu - full on flu. Over the duration of the next 3 to 4 days they suffered and I took care of them. I decided to share my water sachets with them. If this was true why would I not?

How did my body kick, what I believe to be the flu so quickly, and how did I have enough energy to continue to care for them and my other son who then came down with it a couple of days later? OF course, I'm not positive, but I believe it's because my body was already on it's way to a better defense.

So, in light of the fact that I gave away product that I was supposed to be using for a review, AND the fact that I was running circles and doing just fine, I decided to take the jump and order a 10 week supply of water sachets and the Focus Up supplements.

I'm a relatively healthy woman with my biggest health concerns being vein disease (big, ugly and bulging varicose veins), so I am noticing more changes from the Focus Up. I love it. My productivity has gone up considerably. And let me state, that I've used various energy and/or focus supplements before. Let me also point out that Focus Up contains NO sugar and NO fake sweeteners.

In conclusion, I will continue to research and be diligent with my Xooma products.   1. This kind of thing intrigues me. I'm always leery of whats the truth & what's hype & kind of for a profit more than the body's needs - but this is interesting. Glad you had that boost to get through the flu so easily though. I've never even heard of this product before.

    1. Me too Rebecca. I’ve used a lot of different products and have been burned a long the way. I’ve determined that I’m going to research more before I try it and only review it if I like. 😊 I had never heard of this company either...if I didn’t respect the ladies that told me about it I would have kept on scrolling.   3. That's pretty impressive that you dodged the flu! Water is so important, I drink a gallon a day and never touch sodas or sweet drinks. I do love my coffee in the morning but my work out routine and clean-ish eating keep me energized. If I am out somewhere and have a carb heavy meal I literally feel like I need a nap!

    1. Thank you Ronnie! I worked hard on this one and I have some friends who ask me tough questions, which pushes me further into research. The bottom line for me is not whether or not I believe that we need those extra minerals, cuz I believe we do. The bottom line for me is going to be about whether or not this company delivers as it says.
