Two Pencil Skirts and Another Graphic Tee Giveaway!

Hey, hey. As I write this little note today rain pours down, suiting the overcast undertones in these pictures. Georgia has received a lot of rain this spring, but that's ok. I have a candle going, a few moments of peace in the house and my laptop ready share two business casual looks, featuring pencil skirts. In addition, I'm revealing my latest graphic tee "giveaway" from Beats & Breath! I'm so happy you're here!!

I'll get right to the outfit that came together because of my latest Target heels and an Altar'd State top from the winter. Can you tell how much fun I had with these color mixes? The skirt is a "Cassie" by LuLaroe, which offers a wide variety of prints or solids. It's stretchy and comfortable -  if you wear it to the office you'll think you're wearing leggings...in skirt form.

Now, I wasn't wearing this outfit to the office. In fact, there was no special event at all. I wore it to run errands, one of which was paying our waterbill at City Hall.

Hey folks of City Hall. Just here to pay my water bill. I am so fancy! Wink. Wink.

Maybe they just thought I was coming from the office.

Outfit Details
Top: Altar'd State - Clearance Find
Skirt: LulaRoe Cassie - LuLaRoe with Ashton B
Shoes: Target - High Block Heel
Shades: Ray Ban - Aviator Shades on sale
Pencil Skirt - #2

The second outfit makes me think of my mother-in-law. For one thing, this is 100% her style. For another, she gave me the top and skirt - haha! Why do I find that amusing?!!

In order to feel like I wasn't dressing to give a presentation to the board, I added a casual pair of red wedges and the straw, round crossbody purse. Of course I think I could wear this to the office, but I'll save my red heels and briefcase for those big meetings. ;)

Admittedly, I did not intend to purchase a round, trendy purse this season but I when I found this one at American Eagle for $15 (with discounts), I caved. And now I must also confess that I use it all the time! It's light weight and the straw material makes it perfect for summer!! So I hopped on the trend train. What's trends have you hopped on for this season??

Last, but not least, I'm excited to share with you my latest graphic tee from Beats and Breath. In fact, I'm wearing it right now and would love to share pictures of today's outfit, but it's so dreadfully overcast and rainy. Next time! (If you missed the backstory on these graphic tees, click HERE to catch up.)

My Latest Graphic Tee from Beats and Breath!

Last week I featured a tank perfect for working out that says "girl's just want to have fun & run & lift & jump & lunge", which went to sweet Angie. Well, this week's shirt has me tapping my foot and bobbing my head, as I hum a tune by Taylor Swift. It's from her early days...let's see if you can guess the song!

...and yes, there is a little man climbing on my friend Melissa, giving her bunny ears. Melissa owns her own business in downtown Atlanta, she's a wife and a mom to two boys. She's smart, energetic (gosh, she'd have to be) and so generous. But when you meet her, you'll notice her smile first - it lights up her whole face and well, it's lights up the whole town as well. ;)

Jen G. from Beats and Breath says that this song inspired her because she believes, "everyone should know that their particular smile lights up the atmosphere around them. So it makes you want to smile.  Who doesn't want to light up a whole town?".

How sweet is that??

In conclusion my friends, let's dress up for whatever we want, grab a fun trend when the price suits us and, most importantly, let's remember to SMILE from the inside out. It's absolutely the most beautiful feature we have! ;)

Be sure to check out Jen's fun and creative designs HERE on etsy.

  1. I love pencil skirts, I only have a couple of them in my closet since I don't wear skirts too often... but, gosh golly I love both of these looks on you! That top in the first outfit is really pretty and feminine, just love it with that skirt. The other outfit looks light and airy, perfect for this hot summer! I love the little flower ring that matches the skirt.

    1. I don't wear skirts often either, so the fact that I had two outfits to share is crazy. lol Anyway, thank you for your fun feedback. The weather has been so weird here...because of the rain it dropped down to 72 degrees, which is how I'm getting away with certain more early spring-like outfits! Thanks again for visiting Carrie! :)

    1. I would definitely recommend trying on a lularoe cassie, as you can adjust the waistline/length a bit. Most often, I don't like to wear pencil skirts because they feel too restrictive! Thank you for visiting Sarah!

  9. I love dressing up just for the sake of dressing up. I'll do this just to go to the grocery store! Both of these looks are great! Of course we know how wonderful you look in pink! That goes without saying. But, I also really love the black and white. That skirt is fabulous, and you did a great job of "officing it down".

    1. Thank you Nicole. I try to not get stuck in a rut of wearing the same things all the time! And as far as a visit, if my sister has anything to do with it, I'll be heading out there. But it may just have to be me again - none of the kiddos. Or I need some major flight sales. ;)

  12. The pencil skirt is absolute must-have! I like the way it sits. In my opinion, this is the best bottom piece for ladies who want to show off their femininity and professionalism during work hours. Plus, this garment makes a real impression on every man. I made an article about pencil skirts for work, and want to share with you my favorite outfit ideas: http://wardrobefocus.com/pencil-skirts-for-2018-best-styles-for-work/ Hope you gonna like it too.
